We are incredibly proud that Longlands Primary School and Nursery has been judged Outstanding by Ofsted for the second time, first in October 2018 and again in November 2024. This recognition reflects the dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our pupils and the strength of our partnerships with families and the wider community.
The inspectors praised our inclusive and nurturing environment, our ambitious curriculum and the wide range of opportunities we offer to support every child’s development. From forest school and music therapy to leadership roles and charity events, our pupils are encouraged to grow socially, emotionally and academically. We are especially proud of the support we provide for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, which was highlighted as consistently excellent.
Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. It is responsible for inspecting and regulating services that care for children and young people, and those that provide education and skills across all age groups. Their goal is to promote excellence in education and care, and they report directly to Parliament as an independent and impartial body.

Parent View
Parent View is an online platform provided by Ofsted where parents and carers can share their views about our school. It asks for feedback on areas such as teaching, behaviour and how well we respond to concerns.
This feedback helps Ofsted decide when to inspect schools and gives us valuable insight into how families feel about their child’s experience at Longlands. We encourage all parents to take part and share their thoughts.
