Welcome to Longlands Primary School. We are delighted that you are considering a place for your child with us. This website is here to give you a clear picture of life at Longlands and to help answer many of the questions you may have as you explore your options.
We encourage you to watch our short video clip, which offers a glimpse into our Early Years Foundation Stage and the warm and engaging environment we provide for our youngest learners. If you would like to know more, our office team will be happy to arrange a time for me to speak with you and share more about our school.
As Headteacher, I am proud to lead a team of dedicated and enthusiastic staff who work together to create a vibrant and inclusive learning environment. We are committed to helping every child achieve their very best, and we believe that learning should be exciting, meaningful and joyful.
At Longlands, we place great importance on working in partnership with parents, carers and the wider community. These relationships are at the heart of our ethos and help us build a strong and supportive network around each child. We also celebrate the rich diversity of our school community, which brings so much to the life and learning of our school.
We are deeply committed to inclusion and believe that every child should feel safe, respected and inspired to grow. Longlands is a very special place and we hope you will feel that too when you visit.
Nicola Adams, Headteacher

Applying for Nursery Admissions
We are pleased to offer Nursery places for the 2026 to 2027 academic year to children born between 1 September 2022 and 31 August 2023.
Our Nursery runs every weekday morning from 8.45am to 11.45am, offering 15 hours of early years provision each week. We have one intake in September and welcome children who are ready to begin their learning journey in a warm and nurturing environment.
Please note that attending our Nursery does not guarantee a place in our Reception class. Reception admissions are managed separately by Hertfordshire County Council.
Upon application for a place, we will take your child’s details and add them to our Nursery Waiting List, and send you the Nursery Admission Forms in March 2026.
